Gestern wurde ein Trailer zur ersten Episode “Ghost Pain” des Ghost in the Shell: Arise Anime veröffentlicht. Die noch junge Motoko darf hier schonmal ordentlich Ärsche treten.
Die vierteilige Arise Reihe wird ab Ende Juni in Japan ausgestrahlt und landed rund einen Monat später auf DVD und Blu-ray Disc in den Regalen. Englische Untertitel sind dort leider nicht enthalten, bei der Popularität von Ghost in the Shell dürfte eine westliche Veröffentlichung aber nicht lange auf sich warten lassen.

Synopsis:

The story is set in 2027, one year after the end of the fourth non-nuclear war. New Port City is still reeling from the war’s aftermath when it suffers a bombing caused by a self-propelled mine. Then, a military member implicated in arms-dealing bribes is gunned down.
During the investigation, Public Security Section’s Daisuke Aramaki encounters Motoko Kusanagi, the cyborg, wizard-level hacker assigned to the military’s 501st Secret Unit. Batou, a man with the “eye that does not sleep,” suspects that Kusanagi is the one behind the bombing. The Niihama Prefectural Police detective Togusa is pursuing his own dual cases of the shooting death and a prostitute’s murder. Motoko herself is being watched by the 501st Secret Unit’s head Kurutsu and cyborg agents.

Mr. Freeman, Willkommen in der Wright, Pegg & Frost Familie! Im ersten Trailer zu Edgar Wrights The World’s End springt der Funken trotz Zaunsprungaktion noch nicht ganz über, ich bin aber davon überzeugt, daß mich der komplette Film am Mitte September überzeugen wird.

Synopsis:

20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End.
As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.

Japans Enfant terrible Sion Sono präsentiert den ersten Teaser Trailer zu seinem kommenden Film Why don’t you play in hell? der zeigt was eine Familienfehde während einer Filmproduktion anrichten kann.

Nach mehreren sehr atmosphärischen und eher ruhigen Trailern lässt Zack Snyder seinen Man of Steel jetzt endlich mal von der Leine…
Auch wenn Superman als Held eher mau finde freue ich mich hier schon ordentlich auf den deutschen Kinostart am 20. Juni.

Wie gestern mit dem Poster angekündigt, hier nun der erste Trailer zu Neill Blomkamps Elysium. Das wird ganz groß!

Synopsis:

In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes (Jodie Foster), a hard the government official, will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max (Matt Damon) is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.
