Ausnahmeregisseur Darren Aronofsky schafft es, daß ich mir einen Film über (wahnsinnige/bikuriose) Ballettänzerinnen anschauen will. Ich vermute ja, daß der Film etwas in Richtung von Satoshi Kons Perfect Blue (an dem Aronofsky angeblich schon Rechte besitzt) gehen wird, lasse mich aber gerne überraschen.

Synopsis

Nina (Portman) is a ballerina in a New York City ballet company whose life, like all those in her profession, is completely consumed with dance. She lives with her obsessive former ballerina mother Erica (Hershey) who exerts a suffocating control over her.
When artistic director Thomas Leroy (Cassel) decides to replace prima ballerina Beth MacIntyre (Ryder) for the opening production of their new season, Swan Lake, Nina is his first choice. But Nina has competition: a new dancer, Lily (Kunis), who impresses Leroy as well.
Swan Lake requires a dancer who can play both the White Swan with innocence and grace, and the Black Swan, who represents guile and sensuality. Nina fits the White Swan role perfectly but Lily is the personification of the Black Swan. As the two young dancers expand their rivalry into a twisted friendship, Nina begins to get more in touch with her dark side – a recklessness that threatens to destroy her

Da das Thema Hotel Chevalier inklusive Natalie Portmans nackter Poposhow jetzt (passend zum Kinostart) wieder brandaktuell zu sein scheint, hier mal ein kurzes Update was den begehrten Kurzfilm angeht. Laut Cinemaxx wird Hotel Chevalier in ihren Kinos vor The Darjeeling Limited gezeigt, die Ketten Kinopolis und Cineplex schweigen sich leider darüber aus, habe aber mal per Kontaktformular nachgebohrt. [Update] Auf der deutschen Fox Website wird Hotel Chevalier groß als Vorfilm angekündigt. Danke an Charon für den Hinweis.

Wer sich noch etwas gedulden kann oder die Portman Überraschung gerne in Zeitlupe genießen möchte, kann sich auf die US DVD freuen, die laut dem Criterion Forum/DVD Times bereits am 6. Februar erscheint. Diese kommt zwar, Wes Anderson untypisch, nicht vom Edellabel Criterion Collection enthält Hotel Chevalier jedoch trotzdem komplett als Extra.

Comme au cinema zeigt einen neuen bande-annonce zu Kar Wai Wongs My Blueberry Nights. Für meine vielen französischen Leser wurden sogar Untertitel hinzu gefügt.

Deutscher Kinostart ist am 24. Januar.
