All his life, Su Can has been pursuing the summit in martial arts. There are two things he holds dearest to heart…the dream of creating a unique kind of martial arts that will pass on to generations and his beloved wife. But owing to a turn of fate and Su’s own stubbornness, he loses his wife and his family is destroyed.
After losing his wife, Su collapses totally. He is constantly drunk and becomes a crazy beggar in people’s eyes. Everyday, his young son leads him through the streets by a rope, greeted by people’s disdainful gazes.
But during his spiritual exile, his dream for martial arts is still alive. In his madness, Su continues to perfect his skills. Until one day a crisis happens that threatens the life of his young son, the only person Su still cares about and his last bit of human hope. At the vital moment, the flame of life re-ignites in Su.

wheeeeeee, sieht schon sehr ordentlich aus was Old School Regisseur Yuen Woo Ping da im ersten Trailer für seinen im nächsten Jahr erscheinenden All-Star Show (Zhao Wen Zhuo, Zhou Xun, Gordon Liu, Michelle Yeoh, Andy On, Jay Chow und David Carradine) True Legend (Su Qi Er) zeigt, auch wenn einige Szenen stark an Jet Li’s Fearless (bei dem Yuen Woo Ping für die Kampfchoreopgraphie zuständig war) erinnern.

Wu-Jing.org hat den ersten Teaser Trailer/Clip zu True Legend, dem kommenden Film von HK Urgestein Yuen Woo Ping, auf der offiziellen Website entdeckt (tolle Eingangsanimation übrigens…). Der Film handelt von Su Qi-Er, einem wohlhabenden Herren in der Qing Dynastie der Opfer einer Intrige wird und sich nach dem Verlust seines Vermögens unter dem Namen König der Bettler zur Marial Arts Legende aufschwingt.
Regisseur Yuen Woo Ping war bei so ziemlich allen größeren Martial Arts Produktionen als Actionchoreograph beteiligt, über die Action braucht man sich also keine Sorgen machen und muss nur hoffen daß das Drehbuch und Akteure (unter anderem Zhao Wen Zhuo, Zhou Xun, Gordon Liu, Michelle Yeoh, Andy On, Jay Chow und David Carradine) auch in anderen Bereichen glänzen werden.
