Synopsis:

The Tree of Life is the impressionistic story of a Midwestern family in the 1950′s. The film follows the life journey of the eldest son, Jack, through the innocence of childhood to his disillusioned adult years as he tries to reconcile a complicated relationship with his father (Brad Pitt). Jack (played as an adult by Sean Penn) finds himself a lost soul in the modern world, seeking answers to the origins and meaning of life while questioning the existence of faith. Through Malick’s signature imagery, we see how both brute nature and spiritual grace shape not only our lives as individuals and families, but all life.

20th Century Fox hat das Cover der zur 17. November erscheinenden US Blu-ray 10th Anniversary Edition von David Finchers Fight Club veröffentlicht. Gefällt mir sehr gut (auch wenns nicht ganz so schnieke wie das deutsche Seifensteelbook ist), wobei Fox hier noch etwas mehr Mut hätte zeigen und passend zum Schriftzug die rosa Blu-ray Amarays der japanischen K-On! Veröffentlichung übernehmen können…

Während der letzten Sendung von American Idol, der US Ausgabe von Deutschland sucht den Superdeppenstar trat Quentin Tarantino als Gaststar auf und hatte neben einigen Sprüchen auch einen neuen Clip zu seinen Inglourious Basterds mitgebracht, because he loves making movies!

/film hat einen kurzen Promoclip zum Teaser Trailer von Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds gepostet. Den kompletten Teaser gibt es heute Abend bei Entertaniment Tonight und sicherlich wenige Minuten später schon im Internet zu sehen.

Update: Der Teaser ist jetzt online, allerdings nur in einer abgefilmten Version…

Jaja, uns Quentin ist schon nen lustigen Kerlchen. Um sich auch titeltechnisch etwas von der Vorlage zu entfernen, so pfeifen es die Webspatzen von den Dächern, bekommt das Inglorious Bastards Remake offenbar offiziell den Titel Inglourious Basterds verpasst. Spelling skillz, Quentin haz them!
Die Dreharbeiten haben übrigens letzte Woche in Deutschland begonnen, bei Empire News gibt es dazu bereits das erste Foto von Brad Pitt als Lt. Aldo Raine zu sehen. Inhaltsangabe aus der Pressemitteilung:

Inglourious Basterds begins in German-occupied France, where Shosanna Dreyfus (Mélanie Laurent) witnesses the execution of her family at the hand of Nazi Colonel Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz). Shosanna narrowly escapes and flees to Paris, where she forges a new identity as the owner and operator of a cinema.
Elsewhere in Europe, Lieutenant Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) organizes a group of Jewish soldiers to engage in targeted acts of retribution. Known to their enemy as “The Basterds,” Raine’s squad joins German actress and undercover agent Bridget Von Hammersmark (Diane Kruger) on a mission to take down the leaders of The Third Reich. Fates converge under a cinema marquee, where Shosanna is poised to carry out a revenge plan of her own…

Sweet frigid Panda! Kinowelt bzw. Amazon hat das erste Bild zur am 3. Dezember erscheinenden (weltweit ersten) Fight Club Blu-ray Disc veröffentlicht. Eigentlich bin ich ja kein großer Steelbookfan, der wirklich jeden Film in so stabiler Verpackung braucht und deutsche DVDs sind ja auch generell doof und uncool, aber hier passt es ganz einfach wie die Faust aufs Auge (oder sonstwohin). Das Teil kommt (bei entsprechenden Reviews und passendem Regionalcode) auf jeden Fall ins Regal!

Eigentlich bleibe ich der Casting Gerüchteküche ja immer fern, aber bei den aktuellen Meldungen betrefflich Quentins Tarantino Inglorious Bastards Remake Homage musste ich doch mal einen Blick in den Kochtopf werfen. Nachdem bereits letzte Woche Quentin seinen zweitbesten Freund Eli Roth als Darsteller geholt hat und gestern Brad Pitt sein Mitwirken zugesagt hat, stehen jetzt laut First Showing und Rope of Silicone auch Simon Pegg, Nastassja Kinski und B.J. Novak kurz vor einem Vertragsabschluß. Die letzten beiden sind mir relativ egal, aber Simon Pegg in einem Quentin Tarantino Film? Sweety Casting Jesus! Mal schauen wie sich Pegg außerhalb des Wright Universums schlagen wird (Run Fatboy, Run habe ich bisher noch nicht gesehen), natürlich nur für den Fall daß die Gerüchte sich auch bewahrheiten.
Bei Collider gibt es übrigens nen flotten Dreier mit Pegg, Wright und Hynes(Stevenson) von der Comic Con.
