Since I haven’t got the chance to see Where the Wild Things Are in theaters (they’re all just showing the German dub anyway) yet, I have to salute Warner Home Video for the following news. HighDefDiscNews reports that the studio will release Spike Jonze’s adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s classic in the USA on DVD and (for high definition fluffiness) Blu-ray on March 2, 2010! Good thing Warner doesn’t care about putting region codes on their releases, so it should be pretty save to import if you’re not living in Region A-land. That’s all, move along if you have no plans to eat anybody…

A first track from the soundtrack of Spike Jonze’s Where the Wild Things Are adaptation is now available on the films official MySpace page. It’s called “All is Love” and is performed by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs front lady Karen O and a bunch of kids (hence Karen O and the Kids). It’s quite cute and perfectly fits the footage we’ve seen so far.

This afternoon, the first but absolutely amazing teaser trailer of Spike Jonze’s adaptation of Maurice Sendak‘s Where the Wild Things Are aired after the Ellen DeGeneres Show. Luckily, Warner Bros. didn’t tantalized us for long an put the whole furry teaser online just now!

Where the Wild Things Are tells the story of the young boy Max (Max Records) who is sent to bed without supper and creates his own world where ferocious wild creatures crown him as their ruler.
The song used in the trailer is Wake Up from The Arcade Fire (thanks @René).
