Zombrex Dead Rising Sun: Trailer for Live-Action Dead Rising

One should expect that Japanese game studio Capcom would spend some more money to bring its bloody zombie hunt Dead Rising into the world of live-action films, but the first trailer for Zombrex Dead Rising Sun (Shibyō Osen Dead Rising) that’s based on the second game of the series proves us wrong. It has the gore and guts to satisfy the gore hounds, but looks like it’s missing all the irony and fun from the first game and other Japanese genre films we’ve seen in the last few moons. I guess this is also the reason why Keiji Inafune’s directorial debut will only be available on the net and the Xbox360 live network sometimes in 2010.

Two Clips for Dante’s Inferno: An Animated Epic

meh, this clip from the “animated epic” accompanying EA Games video game Dante’s Inferno looks, just as expected like another bland contract job (Halo: Legends anyone?) from a Japanese animation studio created for an US company. Another clip is available over at AICN.

Trailer for Dante’s Inferno: An Animated Epic

Once again Production I.G. has joined their animation forces with Western companies. This time for the six-part anthology Dante’s Inferno: An Animated Epic that will serve as the animated spin-off for EA Games Dante’s Inferno (based on Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy). The first trailer showing off some demon slaying action is embedded below.
The full anthology will be released on DVD and Blu-ray Disc together with the game in February 2010.

First Footage from Live-Action King of Fighters

Beyond Hollywood has posted the first footage from the live-action adaptation of SNK’s video game series King of Fighters which shows some fighting and stunt scenes and some video interviews with director Gordon Chan (Painted Skin, Fist of Legend, Beast Cops) and actors Maggie Q, Sean Faris, Ray Park (Darth Maul from Star Wars: Episode I) and David Leitch blabbering the usual marketing BS.
Despite Gordon Chan’s involvement, I don’t have much hope for this films after seeing how Hollywood just can’t get away from goofy leather costumes, CG overkill and Dragonball Evolution when it comes to video game adaptations…
