The Ancient Dogoo Girl on YouTube

The kind user sugerpotspottt has uploaded the first two episodes of Japanese TV series The Ancient Dogoo Girl, which is co-produced by Machine Girl and RoboGeisha director Noboru Iguchi, to his YouTube channel. Here’s a part from the second episode that will lead to massive brain melting on standard Western brains after a few minutes. Thank god that there are no subtitles available!

Video has been removed… :negative:

Second Trailer for RoboGeisha

Here’s the second trailer for Noboru Iguchi and Yoshihiro Nishimura’s RoboGeisha. It’s not quite as long and crazy as the first one, but at least it features that crazy voice over again…

Geisha is Robot! Trailer for RoboGeisha!

The guys from Twitch has been given the first trailer for RoboGeisha, the latest film from Machine Girl director Noboru Iguchi and Yoshihiro Nishimura (TGP, Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl) from the production company TO Entertainment.
Fortunately (at least for me as a not so big fan of mindless gore) it seems like the gore- and splatter level of the robotic geisha’s adventures has been lowered to make room for some more meshuga ideas (commented by the director himself), which is in my eyes the right way to go with this kind of fun flicks.

Meow! Nekomimi Senki: Akanex & Aobuckle

Is there a better way to kick off the (Japanese Cinema Blogathon) week than watching two catgirls in cheap costumes ‘fight’ an ugly monster that’s under the command of some broad who can extend blades from her nipples and crotch? Maybe, but these clips from Nekomimi Senki: Akanex & Aobuckle [IMDb] are a blast to watch anyway.

Akanex, the foxy lady in red is played by gravure idol Mao Kaneshiro and also appears in these two clips from the first part of West Power’s 2008 trash series about the cat-eared warriors. Both parts/episodes (12) are available on DVD in Japan, of course there are no English subtitles included.

Gory first Trailer for Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl

Time for another tasteful interpretation of the classic conflict between the European horror legends Count Dracula and Frankenstein’s Monster! Brought to you by Japanese schoolgirls (hence the title Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl) and director/make-up artist Yoshihiro Nishimura (Machine Girl, TGP, Samurai Princess).
The trailer is not safe for work and should especially be avoided by those who are afraid of biting skulls…

John Woo’s Weirdest? To Hell with the Devil!

I thinks it’s well known among HK film fans that John Woo has released some pretty weak films before (and also after) creating his great heroic bloodshed classics and historic war epics, but the trailer for To Hell with the Devil (Mo deng tian shi) Woo’s 1981 remake of Bedazzled shows us a whole new level of Woo weirdness! The film is about a loser who sells his soul (and obviously his whole brain) to the devil for some success just to get it back later with the help of an annoying priest. It full of really strange scenes like a real-life Space Invaders/Galaxian and even (but just slightly) surpasses M:I 2 in terms of lack of reality…

To Hell with the Devil has been re-released on March 20 by Joy Sales as a part of the Legendary DVD Collection.
