Exciting news from the “Free and Hanseatic City” of Hamburg. Klaus, author of Japankino.de and co-organizer of the Hamburg Japanese Film Festival (JFFH) just told me that Samurai Princess (GEDÔ-HIME) will celebrate its world premiere on this years festival! Pretty fitting since Tokyo Gore Police premiered last in year in Hamburg. The JFFH will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year and will take place from May 27 to May 31 in several cinemas across the city. More highlights and the full program should be announced soon.

Hide the kids and refill the fake blood tank! The team behind Tokyo Gore Police has released the first trailer for their latest work Samurai Princess (GEDÔ-HIME) and it shows just what we’ve expected from these guys. A lot of trashy gore scenes and a lot of ideas for tools (read: crazy weaponry!) for making these even more intense and bloody! Luckily the trailer even has English subtitles, so we even get a bit of the background story (synopsis).

Samurai Princess (GEDÔ-HIME) is the latest work by Tokyo Gore Police writer Kengo Kaji and should, if we can trust the already released synopsis, please fans of the neo-japanese trash cinema just as well as TGP did. The screenplay was written by Sôtarô Hayashi, Tokyo Gore Police director Yoshihiro Nishimura) was responsible for the special make-up effects. The story takes place in an alternative Samurai era where people live together with highly developed mechanical dolls until some of them begin to run amok and slaughter people in gory bloodsheds. After hearing of these incidents, a mad scientist develops a nearly indestructible female ninja mechanical doll and equips her with 11 types of built-in (of course!) weapons to stop her mechanical brothers once and for all…

Leider ein bisschen klein für meinen Geschmack, aber ansonsten hat das erste Motive zum Kunstblutoverkillabenteuer Tokyo Gore Police eigentlich alles was ein Poster für so einen Film braucht, nämlich ein Mädel (hier Eihi Shiina) mit steil stehender Krawatte, Strapsen und Katana in der Hand.

Nachschlag: Die Twitcher haben einen ‘neuen’ Trailer zu TGP aufgetrieben, wobei es eigentlich nur der alte Clip ist, der etwas gestrafft und aufgemotzt wurde.

Den Machine Girl Machern ist bei der Requisitenbestellung für ihr neues Projekt Tokyo Gore Police offenbar ein kleiner Fehler unterlaufen und so wurde die fünfzigfache Menge an Kunstblut und Gummigedärmen, allerdings keine Schokopuddings für Regisseur Yoshihiro Nishimura geliefert. Das Ergebnis könnt ihr euch im fast fünf Minuten langen Clip/Trailer anschauen, der auf dem Yubari Fantastic Film Festival gezeigt wurde und jetzt bei den Twitchern zu sehen ist. Empfindliche Gemüter sollten sich den Clip allerdings sparen, offenbar bekommt die Tokyo Gore Police Sonderpunkte wenn sie die verdächtigen Mutanten in Einweggläsern zurück zur Wache bringen…
