Full Trailer for Panos Cosmatos’ Beyond The Black Rainbow

One and a half year after the first teaser trailer, Magnolia released a full theatrical trailer for Panos Cosmatos’ trippy mindfuck Beyond The Black Rainbow.

Synopsis:

Set in the strange and oppressive emotional landscape of 1983, Beyond The Black Rainbow is a Reagan-era fever dream inspired by hazy childhood memories of midnight movies and Saturday morning cartoons.

Deep within the mysterious Arboria Institute, a disturbed and beautiful girl (Eva Allan) is held captive by a doctor in search of inner peace. Her mind controlled by a sinister technology. Silently, she waits for her next session with deranged therapist Dr. Barry Nyle (Michael Rogers). If she hopes to escape, she must journey through the darkest reaches of The Institute… but Nyle wonʼt easily part with his most gifted and dangerous creation.

Watch Jesus Orellana’s post-apocalyptic Short ROSA now!

Eight months after the very first teaser trailer and several festival screenings, Spanish director and creator Jesus Orellana finally released his CG short ROSA into the web. All 9:50 minutes of it, in high definition and for free on Vimeo.

And boy was this worth the wait! Despite the short running time (well, it’s a short film after all) and several clear references to Ghost in the Shell and Casshern, Orellana manages to create his own post-apocalyptic world with characters who don’t need dialogue or introductions.
I can’t wait to see the aftermath of his announcement about a live-action full-lenght feature.
Synopsis:

In the near future, humanity has disappeared leaving behind a large megalopolis devoid of natural life. From the destruction awakes ROSA, a robot part of the KERNEL project, mankind’s latest attempt on restoring earth’s ecosystem with the recovery of long-extinct plant species.
Wandering among the ruins of the lifeless city, Rosa will soon discover that she is not the only part of Kernel that has awaken.
