Yes, Mary Elizabeth Winstead! If Hollywood should ever consider a reboot of the Alien franchise (and you know they will!) this girl just has to play the “new” Ripley! Just check out the “good idea” scene at 00:35.
Until then, enjoy (or not) this first trailer for Matthijs van Heijningen Jr’s quasi-remake of John Carpenter’s 1982 classic The Thing.

Synopsis:

At an Antarctica research site, the discovery of an alien craft leads to a confrontation between graduate student Kate Lloyd and scientist Dr. Sander Halvorson. While Dr. Halvorson keeps to his research, Kate partners with Sam Carter, a helicopter pilot, to pursue the alien life form.

Rumors about a Hollywood remake of Chan-wook Park’s OldBoy or rather the original manga by Garon Tsuchiya and Nobuaki Minegishi have been around the net for several years now. After Stephen Spielberg and Will Smith left the project about two years ago and other candidates like Danny Boyle and Matthew Vaughn didn’t get their chance, Mandate Pictures (finally?) got some confirmed news for us. Rope of Silicone reports that the studio announced that Spike Lee will helm the remake/reinterpretation after a screenplay by Mark Protosevich (The Cell, I am Legend, Thor) with yet unnamed actors.

Synopsis:

Despite the missing Arnold, this two minute sneak peek for the new Predators from producer Robert Rodriguez and director Nimród Antal (Kontroll) doesn’t look that bad.
Hey, at least it can’t get any worse than those shitty Aliens vs. Predator films that raped the franchise…right? A first trailer is supposed to hit the net on March 18th..

Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they’ve been brought together on an alien planet…as prey.
