Second Trailer and Clips for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Warner released a second trailer and some short clips for the first of three parts of Peter Jackson’s adaptation of J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit.

Synopsis:

“The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” follows title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, which was long ago conquered by the dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakensheild. Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters and Sorcerers. Although their goal lies to the East and the wastelands of the Lonely Mountain first they must escape the goblin tunnels, where Bilbo meets the creature that will change his life forever…Gollum.
Here, alone with Gollum, on the shores of an underground lake, the unassuming Bilbo Baggins not only discovers depths ofguile and courage that surprise even him, he also gains possession of Gollum’s “precious” ring that holds unexpected and useful qualities … A simple, gold ring that is tied to the fate of all Middle-earth in ways Bilbo cannot begin to know.

Full Length Trailer for Neill Blomkamp’s District 9

Even though several promotion clips and teasers dressed as service announcements and posters mimicking warning signs for District 9 have been around the net for some months now, it took this great full length trailer to spark my full interest for Neill Blomkamp’s directional (full-length) debut. There’s not much to say about the story, since the things we already know (which luckily isn’t that much) will be mentioned in the trailer below. I just hope that we’ll see more alien technology in action than “just” that sweet looking power-suit.

District 9 will open in the US on August 14th.

Lord of the Rings Blu-ray Disc Trilogy available for Pre-order

I guess fans of Peter Jackson’s adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkiens Lord of the Rings Trilogy will see this product listing from Amazon.com with mixed feelings. The online retailer may have the Lord of the Rings Trilogy on Blu-ray disc available for pre-order for 69.95US$ but sadly New Line Cinema has decided only the release the theatrical versions of the films in high definition.
A release date hasn’t been announced yet, but I assume New Line won’t miss out this years Christmas sales. As for the extended editions, there are a lot of rumors going around the net that Jackson will deliver a new cut with the release of the Hobbit adaptation.

Lord of the Rings: Neues zu kommenden Blu-ray Disc Veröffentlichungen
