The country is split into warring factions, the citizens are starving, and recent political reforms have made matters worse, not better. The ruling Qing Dynasty, led by a seven-year-old emperor and his ruthless mother, Empress Dowager Longyu (Joan Chen), is completely out of touch after 250 years of unquestioned power. With ordinary citizens beginning to revolt openly, the Qing Dynasty has created a powerful, modern army (the “New Army”) to quash any rebellion. Champion competitive marksman Ken stumbles into the middle of an armoured van robbery. He sees a policeman held hostage and shoots and kills four of the robbers. One of the robbers escapes and the policeman survives. The case is handled by Jerry Chang, whom Ken knows from having recently beaten him in a shooting match. Ken is found not guilty in court – for killing the robbers – but soon after, Ken is attacked by the escaped robber Pang Tao. Their confrontation reveals a very different background story and brings about a myriad of lies and traps and changes in relationships as Jerry and Ken try to outsmart each other.

Louis Koo Shoots To Kill in Derek Yee’s Triple Tap

In this first teaser trailer for Derek Yee’s upcoming action thriller Triple Tap (at least thematically related to Double Tap the 2000 film and the shooting technique), Louis Koo can show of his impressive shooting skills. The other shootouts in the film probably won’t be as unidirectional like the one shown in the teaser as Koo’s adversary played by Daniel Wu has also spent some time at the shooting ranch.

The Forbidden Kingdom: Neuer Trailer
