New Trailer for Kenji Kamiyama’s 009: Re-Cyborg

Production I.G released a new trailer for Kenji Kamiyama’s (GitS: Stand Alone Complex, Eden of the East) CG Anime 009: Re-Cyborg about three weeks before the theatrical opening in Japan.

Synopsis:

The story begins in 2013 when skycrapers in London, Moscow, Berlin, and New York are destroyed by simultaneous bombings. The indiscriminate terrorism by an unknown group with unknown motives sets off widespread panic throughout the world.

There was once a group of nine cyborg fighters who rescued humanity from threats, but they had disbanded to their home countries. Now the man who created them, Dr. Gilmore, has summoned and assembled them back together again. However, the 00 Number Cyborgs’ former leader, a Japanese man named Joe Shimamura, is now living alone in Tokyo’s Roppongi with his past memories erased.

A Lone Wolf and his Cub in DNR Hell

Meh, looks like I’ll have to stick to my seven year old US DVDs of the Lone Wolf and Cub (Kozure Okami) film series that I wanted to swap for Animeigo’s upcoming Blu-ray Disc Collection. Judging from the screenshots posted in the Rock!Shock!Pop! Forum, Animeigo sent Ogami Itto and little Daigoro past the river Styx to DNR (Digital Noise Reduction) hell.

First Teaser Trailer for BERSERK: Golden Age Arc III: Descent

Warner Bros. Japan and Studio 4°C have released the first teaser trailer for the third and final act of their Berserk movie series. BERSERK: Golden Age Arc III: Descent will open in Japanese theaters in January 2013.
The first part of the series will see a DVD and Blu-ray Disc release by Viz Media in the USA on November 27th. UK fans will have to wait until December for Manga Entertainment’s home theater release which comes in a regular and an Collector’s edition.

Production I.G released a new 30-second spot for 009: Re-Cyborg, the Kenji Kamiyama (Eden of the East, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex) directed CG adaptation of Shotaro Ishinomoris’ 009: Cyborg manga.

Synopsis (009: Cyborg)

During the tensions of the Cold War, a global organization led by Black Ghost wishes to lock the world in eternal warfare for profit. But in order to avoid destroying the world through nuclear warfare, Black Ghost has captured nine men and women. By turning them into cyborg soldiers, he aims to bring the war into the stars. However, Black Ghost did not count on his cyborg soldiers rebelling against his evil cause.

Hellsing Ultimate OVA X Trailer

Almost six years after the release of the first episode, Geneon published a first trailer for the tenth and final episode of their Hellsing Ultimate OVA series. Expect lots of blood, fire and nazi madness.

To finally end the wait for the US fans, FUNimation will release a Blu-ray Disc collection with the first four episodes in October. After that the following episodes will also be released.

Kiki & Only Yesterday: Next Studio Ghibli Blu-ray Discs announced

After Disney Home Entertainment Japan delighted us with their Blu-ray Disc releases of Hayao Miyazaki’s classic My Neighbor Totoro (50 HD screen captures) and Isao Takahata’s Gave of the Fireflies in July, the two next upcoming titles from Studio Ghibli were announced.
Kiki’s Delivery Service und Only Yesterday will be released on December 5th. Both titles will include English subtitles and Kiki will also have the English dub.
