Donnie Yen Fans rejoice! Universe will release Wilson Yip’s Ip Man 2 on DVD and Blu-ray Disc with English subtitles on June 25th. There will also be a Blu-ray Disc collection with both parts of the biopic about the life of Bruce Lee’s teacher on the same day.

UK Blu-ray Disc releases of Goemon and Casshern announced
Good news for those who cursed their lack of German tongue after Splendid Entertainment announced their German Blu-ray Disc release of Kazuaki Kiriya’s Casshern and Goemon. Momentum UK will bring both films in an English friendly version to Blu-ray Disc. Goemon will be released in July while Casshern doesn’t have a date yet.

In this five minute video, Hong Kong’s mega studio Media Asia shows us some of their upcoming highlights for 2010. It includes subtitled footage from Fire of Conscience, Legend of the Fist (Donnie Yen), Once a Gangster (Felix Chong), Reign of Assassins (aka John Woo’s Rain of Swords in The Pugilistic World), Punished (Law Wing-Cheong & Johnnie To), Manhunt (Gao Qunshu), Love in a Puff (Pang Ho-Cheung), Frozen (Derek Kwok), Men & Women (Johnnie To & Wai Ka-Fai), After Shock (Feng Xiaogang), 9 Temples, My Best Bodyguard and another still nameless Johnnie To project.

Sorry for the crappy pq, but this new teaser trailer for Wilson Yip’s Ip Man 2 starring Donnie Yen and Sammo Hung was taken from some Chinese video hoster. I guess beggars can’t be choosers, right? Hopefully we’ll get a proper HK DVD and Blu-ray Disc release a few months after the film opens on April 29, 2010.

And another quick home video release of a Hong Kong titles that just opened in Asian cinemas last month. According to YesAsia, Daniel Lee’s 14 Blades starring Donnie Yen, Sammo Hung and Vicky Zhao will be released in Hong Kong on DVD and Blu-ray Disc on April 14th. Coming from Universe Laser, both releases will include English subtitles but people outside of Region A will have to wait for a confirmation if the Blu-ray Disc will be region locked (like Universe’s last release, The Storm Warriors) or not.

And another fast release coming from our friends in Hong Kong. Teddy and Peter Chan’s star-laden Bodyguards and Assassins opened in Hong Kong’s theaters in December and already YesAsia is listing a DVD and Blu-ray Disc release for February 8, 2010! English subtitles will be included in both versions, people outside of Region A will just have to wait a bit until the region code gets announced since Kam & Ramson sometimes lock their releases.
