Just like promised the day before yesterday, the full program with (so far?) 38 titles for the 10. Japanese Film Festival Hamburg is now available online. The JFFH will take place from May 27 to May 31.

From April 15th to 19th, Frankfurt transforms into the center of the Japanese film world when the Nippon Connection 2009 opens its doors once again. After giving us a first look at the highlights of the largest festival for Japanese film worldwide, the official site has now been updated with the full program that includes more than 150 feature and short films.

Death Note L Darsteller Ken’ichi Matsuyama darf für die Realverfilmung des Detroit Metal City [Detoroito metaru shiti] Mangas von Kiminori Wakasugi mit beiden Händen in den KISS Schminkkasten greifen, wenn er sich vom schüchternen Sōichi in Johannes Krauser II, Leadsänger einer Metal Band verwandelt. Der Film, der zusammen mit einer Animevariante von Studio 4°C produziert wird, erzählt vom Aufstieg der Band aus den Dunstkreisen kleiner Kneipen bis in die Spitzen der Charts. Das offensichtliche Vorbild für den Hauptcharakter, nämlich Gene Simmons von KISS erhält passenderweise einen Gastauftritt lebender Metalgott. Kinostart von Realfilm und Anime soll im Sommer sein, der erste Teaser Trailer ist heute frisch auf der offiziellen Website zum Film (und Anime) aufgetaucht.
