Godkiller: Walk Among Us Complete Trailer

I’ve been reporting about the individual releases and episodes of Godkiller: Walk Among Us, the ‘illustrated film’ based on the comic from Matt Pizzolo and Anna Muckcracker for quite some time now. Now Halo-8 Entertainment has released a first trailer for the complete film that consists of all three episodes and will premiere during the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) on April 16th. If you can’t make it to Chicago, you’ll have to wait until May 25th when it will be released on DVD and Blu-ray Disc.

Synopsis:

Godkiller: Walk Among Us is the story of a boy on a quest to save his dying sister. It takes place in a dark future after economic collapse, after nuclear holy war, and after Earth is colonized by alien races. Tommy and his kid sister Lucy live in an orphanage in one of the few remaining city-states, but Lucy is critically ill and desperately in need of a new heart. Tommy’s odyssey to find a new heart for his sister begins when he follows an organ-stealing prostitute named Halfpipe out of the city-state and into the savage borderland known as Outer City.

Frame by Frame Video Introduction to Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

The friendly folks from Gamervision have created a nice introduction to the world of Scott Pilgrim based on the first trailer of Edgar Wright’s live-action adaptation of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s comic. Very recommended for those among us who (just like me) haven’t read the comic yet, but want to brag in front of the cool kids anyway…

Four Minute Comic Con Clip for Shane Acker’s 9

Here’s another pretty long (over four minutes) clip from Shane Acker’s apocalyptic ragdoll adventure 9 straight from Comic Con. If you combine all the recently released trailers and clips you almost get the feeling that you’ve already seen the film…which is kinda nice if you live in a country like Germany that still hasn’t got a theatrical release date.

Technotise: Edit & I

I’ve stumbled upon this very interesting looking animation project Technotise: Edit i ja (Edit & I) by the Serbian (comic) artist Aleksa Gajic over at Cinema Beacon. While I’m not a big fan of this “smooth” European animation style, I must say that I can’t wait to see more of this world consisting of old and future technology presented in the trailers below and in Gajic’s original comic & production gallery.
The plot is set in 2074 Belgrade (Beograde). After failing the same university exam for the sixth time, the main character Edit decides to visit a dealer on the black market who installs a stolen military chip in her to help her pass. To her surprise, the chip affords her abilities greater than she ever imagined. Needless to say, the government/military is intent on getting back the chip…

First Trailer for Sci-Fi Comic Adaptation SURROGATES

Touchstone Pictures has released the first trailer for sci-fi thriller Surrogates starring Bruce Willis und Radha Mitchell.
The movie is set in a near future where people live in isolation and only interact and live their lives through perfect robotic alter egos called Surrogates. When several surrogates and their operators (i.e. the original humans) are murdered, two FBI agents (Willis & Mitchell) start to investigate the crimes using their surrogates. However, during the investigations one of them is forced to bring out his original human body to unravel the conspirancy.
The whole thing sounds a bit like a story by Mr. K. Dick, but it’s an adaptation of the comic book series written by Robert Venditti. I quite like the trailer but I think Hollywood’s cutters have already given away a bit too much of the plot by showing to many spectacular scenes. I would have kept the whole “Bruce Willis looses his full hair, overturns the system and saves the world” part of the story to myself.

We know you’re all robots and we don’t care!

First Preview Clip for “Illustrated Film” GODKILLER

A first preview clip for GODKILLER, an “illustrated film” from Halo-8 Entertainment based on the comic series created by Matt Pizzolo and Anna Muckcracker has been released today. Set in a dark future, where Earth has been colonized by alien races after an economic collapse and a “holy” nuclear war, GODKILLER tells the story of the orphan Tommy who’s searching for a new heart for his ill kid sister Lucy. On his odyssey he meets the prostitute Halfpipe who’s specialized in organ stealing and takes the young boy into her own dark world of “brutality, quantum physics and conspiracy theories”…

I’m not sure about the “animation” on this one (I’m not a big fan of motion comics either), but I really like the drawing style and with voice artists like Lance Henriksen and several nice ladies (Danielle Harris, Tiffany Shepis, Nicki Clyne) I’m gonna give it a chance. The first episode is supposed to be released this fall.
