US Trailer for Jackie Chan and Li Zhang’s 1911 (aka Xinhai Revolution) opening October 7th in the US. Well Go USA will later release the drama starring Jackie Chan, his son Jaycee Chan, Bingbing Li and Winston Chao on DVD and Blu-ray Disc.
At the beginning of the 20th century, China is in a state of crisis. The country is split into warring factions, the citizens are starving, and recent political reforms have made matters worse, not better. The ruling Qing Dynasty, led by a seven-year-old emperor and his ruthless mother, Empress Dowager Longyu (Joan Chen), is completely out of touch after 250 years of unquestioned power. I couldn’t find an official synopsis, but just take a look at the first trailer and the sweet old-school poster for director Ching-Po Wong’s (Revenge: A Love Story) LET’S GO!. According to Wong, the film starring Juno Mak, Patricia Ha, Stephy Tang and Wang Yu will be based on the vintage Japanese anime Space Emperor God Sigma (宇宙大帝ゴッドシグマ) and will be released late 2011.

Sina.com has released a first trailer for Wong Kar-Wai’s The Grandmaster starring Tony Leung as Ip Man and Zhang Ziyi. The trailer is somewhat less colorful that Wong Kar-Wai’s former works, but let’s wait and see if his biopic about Bruce Lee’s master can beat Wilson Yips’s two films starring Donnie Yen.
