After the fresh announcement for the HK Blu-ray Disc for Jackie Chan’s Police Story, Fortune Star puts another big log on the fire with the last two of the already announced four Bruce Lee classics for Blu-ray Disc.
According to YesAsia, the HK Blu-ray Disc of Enter The Dragon and The Way of the Dragon will be released with English subtitles on September 30th.
It is to be expected that Fortune Star/Kam & Ronson will “protect” these two releases from evil European customers by using region code A like their former Bruce Lee releases.

After several postponements (June, then July…) the first two Blu-ray Disc releases of Bruce Lee classics have popped up online. YesAsia has listed Fist of Fury and The Big Boss for August 10th with English subtitles. Both releases are marked Region A, but so far all reported Deltamac releases have been region free. The release date(s) for Enter The Dragon and The Way of the Dragon are still unknown.

As some of you noticed and commented on, Fortune Star and Kam & Ramson sadly didn’t manage to release the Bruce Lee classics The Big Boss, The Way of the Dragon, Fist of Fury and Enter The Dragon on Blu-ray Disc in June like they announced back in May.
I was hoping till the last day of June that the titles would pop up at the usual retailers, but to no avail. Now muldoon, admin of the recently mostly inactive Asian DVD Guide, has posted on the sites forum that the films will be released in mid-July! He doesn’t mention any more information or sources but because of the site’s good connections to the Asian labels I just hope that this time we’ll finally be able to get the titles in fine high definition.

Bruce Lee, the indisputable king of kung-fu returns in high definition! Marketing Interactive reports that Fortune Star has stuck a deal with Hong Kong based distributor Kam & Ronson to release a part of their over 600 titles strong film library on Blu-ray Disc. To honour Bruce Lee, the first titles to be released will be The Big Boss, The Way of the Dragon, Enter the Dragon and Fist of Fury. All four discs will be available in mid June in Hong Kong and Macau.
Kam & Ronson’s Blu-ray Disc releases have been region free so far, included English subtitles and are available from the usual import shops like DDDHouse and YesAsia. Let’s hope that Fortune Star has put some effort into remastering these titles.

Auf dem chinesischen YouTube Klon YouKu.com ist ein neuer Trailer zum Biopic Ip Man mit Donnie Yen als Wing Chun Großmeister aufgetaucht. Zudem haben die fleißigen Spione im KFC Cinema Forum einige neue Charakterposter aufgestöbert. Sieht alles schon sehr gut aus, ich hoffe dem Kinostart Mitte Dezember folgt eine schnelle (und ordentliche) DVD und Blu-ray Disc Veröffentlichung.

Der erste richtige (d.h. ohne Behind the scenes Material) und überaus beeindruckende Teaser Trailer zum Biopic über das Leben des Wing Chun Großmeisters (Y)Ip Man ist auf der taiwanesischen Website zum Film (geile Menüanimation btw) aufgetaucht. Der Lehrmeister von Bruce Lee wird von Sunnyboy Donnie Yen gespielt, die Regie übernimmt Wilson Yip.

Ich will ja nicht (wieder) in Nerdcore‘schen Zombiegefilden wildern, aber das Teil musste ich zu Beginn der Arbeitswoche einfach bringen. Zombie Fu ist ein sechs Minuten langer Stop-Motion Film von Jayel Draco und Kyle Varga in dem ein untoter Samurai gegen massenhaft ebenfalls zombiefizierte Gegensacher (inklusive Zombie Bruce Lee) antritt.

Eine “Hires” Variante gibt es bei Jayel Draco (Video Menu/Features…) direkt zu sehen.
