Synopsis:

To Aru Hikūshi e no Tsuioku’s story revolves around Charles Karino, a Revaamu Empire mercenary aerial pilot who mans the twin-seater reconnaissance seaplane Santa Cruz. One day, he receives a preposterous assignment: to fly solo over 12,000 kilometers of enemy waters to protect a girl named Fana del Moral. Fana happens to be the next in line to the empire’s throne and a girl possessing beauty “equal to 5,000 beams of light.”

Synopsis:

First weird Trailer for Francis For Coppola’s latest flick Twixt that will premiere on this years Toronto Film Festival in September.

Synopsis:

A writer with a declining career arrives in a small town as part of his book tour and gets caught up in a murder mystery involving a young girl. That night in a dream, he is approached by a mysterious young ghost named V. He’s unsure of her connection to the murder in the town, but is grateful for the story being handed to him. Ultimately he is led to the truth of the story, surprised to find that the ending has more to do with his own life than he could ever have anticipated.

New Longer Trailer for Goro Miyazaki’s Kokuriko-Zaka Kara (From Up On Poppy Hill)

I don’t know if From Up On Poppy Hill is the official English title for Kokurika-Zaka Kara (コクリコ坂から), Goro Miyazaki’s second anime at Studio Ghibli, but at least it’s a title I can remember.

The manga is set in Showa 38 (1963, a year before the Tokyo Olympics) and follows the coming of age of an ordinary, pigtailed high school girl named Komatsuzaki in Yokohama, a harbor city near Tokyo. Her sailor father went missing after an accident, and her photographer mother is frequently going abroad for work. Her family now runs a lodging house. The manga recounts Komatsuzaki’s everyday life of “laughter and tears” with two boys — a school newspaper member named Shun Kazama and the student council president Mizunuma.

Synopsis:

A failed actor named Ryosuke (Satoshi Tsumabuki) takes a part-time job at a pachinko parlor. After racking up a huge debt, he’s forced to take a smuggling job from a yakuza company chief (Yasuko Matsuyuki) who offers him 50,000 yen per successful delivery.
Unfortunately for Ryosuke, the reason for this big payout is that his new job actually entails disposing of corpses in the middle an escalating gang war, and making even the slightest mistake could prove deadly.

Synopsis:

Retired mob boss Du-heon enrolls in a cooking class with the hopes of making a fresh start as a restaurant owner. In the class he meets a quirky girl, Se-bin, and finds himself drawn to her mysterious charms. Despite his determination to wipe the slate clean, Du-heon is summoned back into the criminal fold by his old colleagues to stop his successor expanding the mob business into prostitution and drug-dealing.

But there’s more to the girl from the cooking class than meets the eye: Se-bin is a contract killer hired by the new boss. She keeps a close eye on Du-heon and watches for an opportunity to take him out. However, she comes into conflict with herself as she grows attached to him.
