ARCHETYPE

Sci-Fi short Archetype, created by Aaron Sims who gets mentioned in the creative credits of almost every Hollywood blockbuster produced in the last twenty years. It looks pretty slick for the low budget (IMDb mentions 25k$), but feels more like a long trailer than a standalone feature thanks to the open ending and short runtime.

Synopsis:

RL7 is an eight-foot tall combat robot that goes on the run after malfunctioning with vivid memories of once being human. As its creators and the military close in, RL7 battles its way to uncovering the shocking truth behind its mysterious visions and past.

Get the Flash Player to see the wordTube Media Player.

Synopsis:

The story covers 13 years and begins with a 19-year-old college student named Hana who encounters and falls in “fairy tale-like” love with a “wolf man.” After marrying the wolf man, Hana gives birth and raises two wolf children — an older sister named Yuki (“snow”) who was born on a snowy day, and a younger brother named Ame (“rain”) who was born on a rainy day.

The four quietly lived in a corner of a city to conceal the fact that the children are “wolf children.” However, when the wolf man suddenly dies, Hana decides to move to a rural town far removed from the city.

I already added these two discs some time ago to the Asian Blu-ray Guide database, but since the great cover artwork has only been revealed some days ago, I thought I should mention the upcoming US Blu-ray Disc releases of Battle Royale here as well.

The single-disc regular edition comes with the director’s cut version of the first film while the Complete Collection will include both versions of Battle Royale, the director’s cut of Battle Royale: Requiem plus several bonus features on four discs.
The converted 3D version of the original film is still only available in Japan and Germany withouth English subtitles…

First Trailer for Sci-Fi Romance Upside Down

First trailer for the sci-fi romance Upside Down by Argentine director and writer Juan Diego Solanas starring Kirsten Dunst and Jim Sturgess.

Synopsis:

Look up towards the sky and rub your eyes because you won’t believe what you see: cities, forests, and oceans with their own inverted gravity, only an arm’s length away, yet completely unreachable. Take a leap over to this alternate reality, two worlds – one above, one below? facing each other, and you’ll land in the extraordinary world of Upside Down.

Adam (Jim Sturgess) is a seemingly ordinary guy in a very extraordinary universe. He lives humbly trying to make ends meet, but his romantic spirit holds on to the memory of a girl he met once upon a time from another world, an inverted affluent world with its own gravity, directly above but beyond reach…a girl named Eve (Kirsten Dunst). Their childhood flirtation becomes an impossible love. But when he catches a glimpse of grown-up Eve on television, nothing will get in the way of getting her back…
Not even the law or science!
