Yesss! ANN reports that a new anime project based on Kentarou Miura’s fantastic Berserk manga has been announced on the serie’s latest volume. Several Japanese magazines are supposed to spill more details later…

Synopsis:

China is plunged into strife as feuding warlords try to expand their power by warring over neighboring lands. Fuelled by his success on the battlefield, young and arrogant Hao Jie sneers at Shaolin’s masters when he beats one of them in a duel. But the pride comes before a fall. When his own family is wiped out by a rival warlord, Hao is forced to take refuge with the monks. As the civil unrest spreads and the people suffer, Hao and the Shaolin masters are forced to take a fiery stand against the evil warlords. They launch a daring plan or rescue and escape.

Second trailer for Wen Jiangs action comedy Let The Bullets Fly starring Chow Yun-Fet, Carina Lau and the director himself. The film was supposed to open in October, but according to the new trailer the new release date is December 16, 2010.

Synopsis

Set in China during the warring 1920s, notorious bandit chief Zhang descends upon a remote provincial town posing as its new mayor, an identity that he had hijacked from Old Tang, himself a small-time imposter. Hell-bent on making a fast buck, Zhang soon meets his match in the tyrannical local gentry Huang as a deadly battle of wit and brutality ensues.

Synopsis:

It is the year 2194. The Gamilons, an enemy of undetermined form, begin an invasion of Earth. The nations of Earth pool their forces and fight back, but their armies are defeated and most of humanity wiped out.

Five years later, in 2199, the Earth has been polluted by space-to-planet bombs, and those who remain alive have fled underground. Even the former top pilot, Susume Kodai, has left the military. One day as he is exploring above-ground, a mysterious object falls out of the sky. This is a communications capsule from the planet of Iscandar, 148,000 light years distant.

Apparently on Iscandar is equipment that will eliminate the radiation. The Defense Force of Earth equips the Space Battleship Yamato with a previously unknown propulsion system, a wave-motion engine based on plans found in the capsule. Kodai rejoins the Force, and resolves to set out aboard the “Yamato.” With the fate of the Earth in their hands, the crew blasts off for distant Iscandar. They have one year until radiation drives humanity to extinction. Kodai great battle has begun. Carrying humanity last hope with it, the Yamato blasts off!

Universum Anime hat mir freundlicherweise jeweils zwei Exemplare der deutschen Blu-ray Disc Veröffentlichungen der Neon Genesis Evangelion Neuinterpretationen Evangelion 1.11: You Are (Not) Alone und Evangelion 2.22: You Can (Not) Advance zur Verfügung gestellt.
Um eine der netten Blauscheiben (besonders 2.22 braucht sich nicht vor den internationalen Veröffentlichungen zu verstecken) zu gewinnen, braucht ihr einfach bis Dienstag Mitternacht (21.09.2010 23:59 Serverzeit) hier einen Kommentar hinterlassen, in dem ihr kurz erläutert wer euer liebster EVA Pilot bzw. Well, great news for Ghost in the Shell fans who don’t want to import expensive Blu-ray Discs from Japan! A few days after the announcement, that the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex movies The Laughing Man, Individual Eleven and Solid State Society will be released in Japan on Blu-ray Disc as individual releases, Right Stuf added the US Blu-ray Disc versions for all three films to their catalogue. Distributed by Manga Entertainment and authored by Bandai Entertainment, the discs are supposed to hit US stores with English subtitles and dub on December 7th.

BTW, Manga Entertainment UK recently acquired the rights for Studio Mdhouse’s racing anime and announced to release it on DVD and Blu-ray Disc early next year!

Whoops, looks like I missed this announcement while celebrating the upcoming Blu-ray Disc release of Hayao Miyazaki’s Laputa: Castle in the Sky. According to AV Watch, Isao Takahata’s My Neighbors the Yamadas (Houhokekyo Tonari no Yamada-kun) will also be released on Blu-ray Disc on December 22nd with the following specs:
Audio: Japanese, English, German, Korean, Mandarin
Subtitles: English, Japanese, French, German, Korean, Chinese
My Neighbors the Yamadas (which was supposed to be the first of the Ghibli films to be released on Blu-ray Disc) is one of the few Ghibli animes I haven’t seen yet, so I’m happy to see this in the (possible) best quality for the first time.
