Geisha is Robot! Trailer for RoboGeisha!

The guys from Twitch has been given the first trailer for RoboGeisha, the latest film from Machine Girl director Noboru Iguchi and Yoshihiro Nishimura (TGP, Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl) from the production company TO Entertainment.
Fortunately (at least for me as a not so big fan of mindless gore) it seems like the gore- and splatter level of the robotic geisha’s adventures has been lowered to make room for some more meshuga ideas (commented by the director himself), which is in my eyes the right way to go with this kind of fun flicks.

Alternative US Trailer for Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea

Disney has released a second or rather alternative trailer for Hayao Miyazaki’s latest film Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea. Sadly this one doesn’t show more of Studio Ghibli’s beautiful artwork but only adds a few seconds of (voice) actors name dropping Disney is famous for…meh.
Shouldn’t trailers concentrate more on…you know, the film? Maybe it’s just me, but the fact that Matt Damon lends his voice to a sailor never managed to lure me into the cinema…

500 Yen Summer Coupon for CDJapan

CDJapan just started its 2009 Summer Sale (guess the weather over there is better than here) and is giving away 500 Yen (~3,70€/5.10US$) coupons until July 30! The discount code is valid for newly placed orders over 5000 Yen (excluding shipping costs) which shouldn’t be a real problem with the Japanese media prices.
My suggestion: The Japanese DVD of Hayao Miyazaki’s Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea will be released on July 3rd with English subtitles…

New Trailer and Poster for Summer Wars

Once again the good folks from Manganimation have found new goodies for Mamoru Hosoda und Satoko Okudera’s upcoming anime Summer Wars from the depths of the net (2chan to be precise).
This time it’s a slightly modified version of the film’s second trailer that shows some new scenes from that still unexplained cyber world, and a nice new poster artwork (clicky left) without the perfect family idyll of the first motive…who parked his Humvee on my lawn?!
