LoveFilm hat einen englisch synchronisierten Trailer zum UK Kinostart von Studio Ghiblis The Borrower Arrietty (Karigurashi no Arrietty) im Juli veröffentlicht. Disney wird seinem US Release im nächsten Februar eine eigene Synchro verpassen, wobei ich selbst als O-Ton Fan zugeben muß, daß der britische Akzent ganz gut zur Atmosphäre des Films passt.

Die französische Version ist ja vor ein paar Tagen schon ins Netz gelangt, aber ich wollte doch auf eine bessere Veröffentlichung des ersten Trailers zu Brad Birds Mission: Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol warten. Der setzt die Messlatte in Sachen (CG unterstützter) Stunts mal wieder eine Ecke höher wenn Tom Cruise ab Mitte Dezember wieder Hochhäuser erklimmt oder wirbelnden Autowracks ausweicht. Außerdem ist auch Simon Pegg wieder mit an Bord, dieses mal hoffentlich in einer etwas größeren Rolle.

Shochiku Entertainment hat einen Promo Trailer zur (japanischen und damit untertitelfreien) DVD und Blu-ray Disc Veröffentlichung von Appleseed XIII: Yuigon, dem ersten Teil von Production I.G.’s CG Anime Neuerzählung von Masamune Shirows Appleseed Manga in ihren YouTube Channel online gestellt.
Internationale Veröffentlichungen sind aktuell leider noch nicht angekündigt.

Synopsis:

Following a world war that killed half the world’s population, the city-nation of Olympus stands as a beacon of hope in a world of chaos and conflict. The utopian metropolis is governed by Gaia, a vast artificial intelligence, and administered by a genetically engineered humanoids known as Bioroids.

Although Olympus seems like a peaceful city on the surface, racial (human vs. bioroids vs. cyborgs), religious, and political conflicts lurk underneath — threatening to overturn the delicately balanced “peace”. Security threats such as terrorists and anti-government criminals abound, so the use of force becomes a necessary evil even in this so-called utopia.

Deunan, a young female warrior, and Briareos, a veteran cyborg-soldier, are both partners and lovers, as well as members of ES.W.A.T., the elite special forces serving Olympus. They are deployed wherever trouble strikes.

Conspiracy, terrorism, deadly military weapons technology, greedy corporations, and power-hungry politicians — these are just some of the threats that Deunan and Briareos must contend with as they fight to protect Olympus and save mankind from plunging into another war.

America, fuck yeah! Der neue Trailer zur (Neu-)Verfilmung von Captain America: The First Avenger sieht ja schon ordentlich aus, bei den letzten paar Karriereschritten von Regisseur Joe Johnston mache ich mir allerdings schon ein bisschen Sorgen um das, was da ab Mitte August da kommen mag.

Gute Neuigkeiten für diejenigen, die sich nicht zwischen der internationalen Schnittfassung und der Kinoversion (einen Schnittvergleich gibt es bei wildgrounds) von Kim Ji-Woons blutigen Rachethriller I Saw The Devil (악마를 보았다 ) entscheiden konnten. Der südkoreanische Vertrieb Blue Kino bietet ab dem 27. Juli nämlich ein Blu-ray Disc Set, das beide Fassungen sowie englische Untertitel beinhaltet. Wenn man dem Produktbild von YesAsia trauen darf, besteht das Set aus zwei normalen Amarays im (limitierten) Schuber.
Beim schicken DVD Set hat man sich hier deutlich mehr Mühe gegeben, aber wenn wir ehrlich sind haben wir eh keinen Platz mehr im Regal, oder?

Synopsis:

Sergeant Gerry Boyle is a small-town Irish cop with a confrontational personality, a subversive sense of humour, a dying mother, a fondness for prostitutes, and absolutely no interest whatsoever in the international drug-smuggling ring that has brought FBI agent Wendell Everett to his door.

Boyle drifts through life, not much concerned about anything, not even the mysterious murder of a man in one of the town’s holiday cottages. But when Everett shows Boyle the mugshots of four drug traffickers, he recognises one of them as the dead man.

And so the two cases converge, with a bemused Everett finding himself adrift in the decidedly original and sometimes surreal world of Sergeant Gerry Boyle, the last of the independents!

Trailer zum taiwanesischen Actiondrama Seediq Bale von Regisseur Wei Te-sheng, der Dank Produzent John Woo vier Stunden lang mit viel Krach und Bumm den Kampf des Seediq Stammes gegen die japanischen Invasoren um 1930 rum zelebrieren darf.
Das Epos wird in zwei Teile gesplittet, die Anfang September in die Kinos Taiwans landen. Bei so großen Namen (Woo zieht ja immer) dürfte es sicher auch nicht lange dauern, bis sich ein internationaler Vertrieb findet. Ich hofffe mal, daß man dann auch die komplette Fassung zu sehen bekommt und keine komprimierte “internationale” Version wie bei Red Cliff.
