Ein japanischer Trailer für einen chinesischen Film über die Gründung der Republik China. 1911 (aka Xinhai Revolution) ist Jackie Chans 100. Film, wobei unser liebster Knochenbrecher hier auch als (Mit-)Regisseur unterwegs war und zudem seinen Sohnemann Jaycee Chan mit ins Boot geholt hat.

Synopsis:

A historical drama based on the founding of the Republic of China when nationalist forces led by Sun Yat-sen overthrew the Qing Dynasty.

Der Trailer zur irischen Cop Komödie The Guard mit Don Cheadle und Brendan Gleeson (den ich ja nicht erst seit Brügge sehen… und sterben? ins Herz geschlosen habe) lässt sich leider nicht direkt einbinden, darum bitte einmal unten aufs Bild klicken.
Regisseur John Michael McDonagh ist übrigens der Bruder von Martin McDonagh, seines Zeichens Regisseur von eben jenem kleinen Film über das belgische Brügge. Ich freue mich ja auch schon wie Bolle auf dessen Seven Psychopaths mit Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell, Christopher Walken und Mickey Rourke. Das wird was…selbst ohne Prostituierte in Uniform!

Als Kinotermin für Deutschland ist übrigens der 22. September gesetzt.
Synopsis:

Sergeant Gerry Boyle is a small-town Irish cop with a confrontational personality, a subversive sense of humour, a dying mother, a fondness for prostitutes, and absolutely no interest whatsoever in the international drug-smuggling ring that has brought FBI agent Wendell Everett to his door.

Boyle drifts through life, not much concerned about anything, not even the mysterious murder of a man in one of the town’s holiday cottages. But when Everett shows Boyle the mugshots of four drug traffickers, he recognises one of them as the dead man.

And so the two cases converge, with a bemused Everett finding himself adrift in the decidedly original and sometimes surreal world of Sergeant Gerry Boyle, the last of the independents!

Die dritte Dimension müsst ihr euch jetzt einfach dazu denken, aber selbst in 2D sieht der Film schon immer besser aus…

Synopsis:

Nach dem Remake von Eiichi Kudos 13 Assassins hat Japans Ausnahmeregisseur Takashi Miike wohl Blut geleckt und machte sich im Anschluss gleich an eine Neuverfilmung von Masaki Kobayashis 1962er Werk Hara-Kiri: Death of a Samurai, zu dem vor einigen Tagen ein erster Teaser Trailer sowie einige Clips veröffentlicht wurden.

Synopsis:

A poverty-stricken samurai named Hanshiro Tsugumo arrives at the manor of a feudal lord under the pretense of wanting to find a suitable place to commit seppuku. Trailer zu südkoreanischen Anime Green Days von Han Hye-jin-I und Ahn Jae-hoon, der bereits auf mehreren Festivals lief und Mitte Juni auch in “normalen” Kinos zu sehen sein wird.
Gefällt mir vom Stil recht gut und erinnert mich mal wieder daran, daß ich My Beautiful Girl, Mari immernoch ungesehen im Regal rumstehen habe…

Synopsis:

Not wanting to lose, Yi-rang orchestrates a collapse in the middle of a relay race even though she’s on the verge of giving up her dream of becoming an athlete. At the same time, Soo-min transfers in from Seoul and Cheol-soo, who dreams of becoming a scientist, come into her life. They are all immature but they are in the midst of youthful aspiration.
With this warm-hearted animation, Han Hye-jin-I and Ahn Jae-hoon encourage Yi-rang’s dreams and portray the fantasy and flutter of adolescence through encounters with good people. Set in the ’80s and ’90s, an old umbrella and a railroad crossing the downtown in the film is the stuff that reminds us of our lost past, evoking a reminiscence in the audience of that which is vanished. It is a way of evoking the real “dreams” that we have lost in this modern society where a rapid capitalization is progressing.

Kurzer, aber sehr cooler Clip aus Richard Ayoades Submarine, in dem Craig Roberts mit aller Macht daran arbeitet wenigstens eines seiner Lebensziele zu erreichen.

Irgendwie fühle ich mich bei dem Kind an dunkle Star Wars: Episode 1 Zeiten erinnert…

Lucasfilm und 20th Century Fox haben zum gestrigen Star Wars Tag neben technischen Details auch die Coverdesigns der am 12. September erscheinenden Star Wars Blu-ray Disc Collections veröffentlicht. Während erstere eher weniger überraschen (nur die Special Edition Schnittfassungen, mehr Extramaterial als jeder gesunde Mensch je brauchen wird…), sind die Covervarianten doch ganz nett geworden.
Besonders das Vader Motiv der Episode IV – VI Box ist was fürs Auge…
