Ich hab keine Ahnung wie alt das unten gezeigte Promovideo zur französisch-koreanischen Gemeinschaftsproduktion Princess Bari schon ist, beeindruckend schaut das Teil aber (mieser Bildqualität zum Trotz) allemal aus.
Der Film basiert auf einer koreanischen Volkssage, ist unter der Regie von Baek-yeob Seong (Oseam) bereits seit 2001 in Produktion und wurde laut Animation Insider angeblich auch bereits Ende 2007 fertiggestellt. Veröffentlicht wurde bisher jedoch nichts und gehört habe ich auch erst jetzt durch diesen recht ausführlichen Artikel bei Cinema Beacon.
Die Kollegen hauen in letzter Zeit übrigens immer sowas von interessanten Themen (auch per Twitter) raus, daß ich garnicht anders kann als mir immer wieder mal einige Sahnestücke auszuleihen.

Hier die Zusammenfassung aus einem koreanischen Bilderbuch welches auf der gleichen Sage basiert:

Once upon a time, a king and a queen hand six princess brought up most delicately yet no prince. When the queen bore another child in her womb, they wished it to be a boy. But the seventh child turned out to be a princess. The king and the queen, greatly disappointed, abandoned the princess.
Few years later, the king came down with a sickness which could only be cured with the medicine from the world of the dead. As none of six princesses agreed to go to the world of the dead to fetch the medicine, they found the seventh princess whom they had abandoned, and asked her for the favor. The abandoned princess, who had been reared by a poor and wretched couple, was thankful to the king and the queen for merely bringing her into this world. So she embarks on an adventure into the world of the dead to get the medicine for the king. The story is full of fantasy, adventure and heroic deeds, all of which are characteristics of the Korean epic poetry of the shamans.
