Sweet apocalypse, AHT is about to E.X.P.L.O.D.E.! Bandai Visual hat heute bei AV Watch angekündigt, Katsuhiro Otomos Meisterwerk Akira endlich auf Blu-ray Disc zu veröffentlichen. In Japan soll das Werk am 20., in den USA am 24. Februar 2009 mit englischen Untertiteln und englischer Tonspur auf den Markt kommen. Der japanische Originalton wird als Dolby TrueHD 5.1 und PCM Tonspur vorliegen, der englische Dub als 5.1 Spur in noch unbekanntem 5.1 Format (tippe auf DD).
Da Bandai Visual seine Honneamise Veröffentlichungen bisher codefree gehalten hat, darf man sich sicherlich auch mit einem europäischen Player über die Veröffentlichung freuen.
